Our team are all UK based, work on a voluntary basis and do not receive remuneration.

Chair and Treasurer : Anne Aves

Anne is the widow of John, in whose memory JAEP was founded. Anne was been involved in education for 30 years. She worked at City College Norwich from 1984 until her retirement in 2013. Her roles included teaching, Head of Department and managing regional projects to re-engage vulnerable young people. Anne has returned to Dheisheh Camp, Al Quds and Bethlehem universities many times.

Secretary: Elizabeth Magem

Liz Magem is the secretary for our committee. Liz has been involved in education for nearly 24 years. Her roles have included Head of Department at City College Norwich, a training consultant for Aviva and a principal lecturer for QA, the UK's leading learning company. Liz and Anne Aves have been friends for over 40 years, and through that friendship Liz came to know John. Liz has joined Anne on her two most recent visits.

Trustee: Nicholas Taylor

Nick is a retired local businessman with good financial and management skills. His companies won many local and national business awards and he brings a discipline and focus to the charity.Family member: Ben Aves

Ben is a son of John and Anne. Ben is a Director - Global Communications Strategy at LEGO Group. Ben brings his experience and expertise as a strategist, especially in the area of media and publicity material.

Scholarship Advisor: Samia Tabari

Samia is a social development expert with a focus on refugees programmes, primarily in the Middle East. She retains professional and personal connections to the Middle East and speaks Arabic. Samia offers advice on the appropriateness of funding applicants.

Family member: Edmund Aves

Ed is a son of John and Anne. Ed works as a product and architectural photographer. Edmund brings his experience and expertise to the project by photographing images for our Christmas cards, advising on images for our website and other publicity.
