JAEP has worked with Al-Quds University since 2011.
‘The university was founded two decades ago as the only Palestinian University in Jerusalem, and upon the vision that only an educated and enlightened citizenry can safeguard the future of our nation. Indeed education has been the key to our perseverance as a people struggling for freedom and self-determination. Today as one of the top universities in Palestine we are able to boast 15 faculties and 29 institutes and centers, among them the first Medical School in Palestine, the first Research Center for Nanotechnology, the Institute of Jerusalem Studies that offers a unique MA on the ancient city and the innovative Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences, which combines the best of American and Palestinian academic traditions’. Part of the statement from the President of Al Quds University.
We spend time at the university and join the students for their classes . This is to ensure that our selection process is rigorous, that they are benefiting from JAEP funding and that our donors are receiving value for their donation.
We continue to work in partnership with Ibdaa, who recommend young people living in Dheisheh who volunteer at Ibdaa to apply to JAEP for funding.
Trustees visit the universities and Dheisheh camp regularly to spend time with the young people, their families and staff at the university. For some of the time we stay in Ibdaa.
