Jacob Boswall returned to Dheisheh in April 2015

Nibal, Marwa, Jacob, Fadi Dheisheh February 2014

Jacob stayed in Dheisheh for ten days in April 2015, staying at the home of one of the JAEP students.

Jacob spent time with JAEP students when he is staying in Dheisheh and also accompany them as they travelled to Al Quds University.

Jacob was living and volunteering in Dheisheh from January to March 2014. During this time he met JAEP students

Videos of conversations held in November 2014 with the students and photos from this trip have been uploaded to our website

Marwa, Rasha, Nihal, Amal & Anne in IBDAA November 2014

Anne videoed a conversation with each of the young people from Dheisheh that JAEP is currently financially supporting. These can be found under the student tab on this website

Each student was asked the following questions:

What course are you studying, what interested you about this subject?

Why did you choose Al Quds University?

What do you plan to do when you have completed your course?

The importance of volunteering

Why do you think JAEP is currently sponsoring more girls than boys?

Do you have story about checkpoints?

Anne stays at Al Quds University and Dheisheh Camp from 1 to 12 November 2014

Anne with Amal one of the students JAEP is supporting at Al Quds University

Anne returned to Al Quds University and Dheisheh Palestinian Refugee Camp from 1 to 12 November 2014. For this visit Anne stayed at both locations. The journey from Dheisheh Camp in Bethlehem to Al Quds University in Abu Dis a village on the outskirts of Jerusalem involves passing a checkpoint which means journey time is unpredictable. This meant Anne could spend more time with the young people we are financially supporting. During the time at Al Quds University, Anne joined the young people for their classes and meet their tutors.
